Oilfield services group Aker has sold off its mooring and loading systems in a £154million deal.
The deal will see the Pusnes brand, mooring equipment, loading systems and dech machinery operations transferring to Cargot
The Norwegian firm, which has around 370 staff in offices Norway, China and the USA, generated around £120million in revenue last year.
“The proceeds will be used to develop Aker Solutions’ main business in the deepwater and subsea oil-services segments,” says Øyvind Eriksen, executive chairman of Aker Solutions.
“While the mooring and loading systems unit for many years has generated healthy returns and enjoys a strong market position, it has limited synergies with the rest of the company.”
The deal is due to be completed next year, with Aker business chief Leif Haukom leading the new unit.
