US Coast Guard officials have called off their search for a missing offshore worker.
A crewman on board the offshore supply vessel Dustin Danos went missing on Sunday night, sparking a major search along the Louisiana coastline.
But after more than 50 hours of helicopter searches, rescue teams have failed to recover him.
“We offer our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the missing crewmember,” said Philip Schifflin, deputy commander for the Coast Guard’s New Orleans sector.
