Seismic exploration firm SeaBird has been dealt a blow after a contract originally due to kick-off last month was scrapped.
The Cyprus-based firm had been due to carry out £10million worth of data capture in the Asia Pacific for an undisclosed national oil firm.
However, after delays had held up the 110-day exploration contract for the Voyager Explorer vessel, the project has now been scrapped.
“The company is considering alternative opportunities for the vessel,” it said in a statement.
“The cancellation of the Voyager Explorer will negatively impact the utilization for the company.”
