Energy contractor HS Ocean Group (HSOG) has been awarded a multi-million dollar upgrade contract for Rowan Group’s jack-up rig in Trinidad.
The work on the Rowan Gorilla III will include inspection, repair and refurbishment of the spud cans, replacement of the shale-shaker house and a complete upgrade of the accommodation, along with steel, electrical and pipe replacement scopes.
The company will carry out the work at its Trinidad La Brea facility using a deep water quay within the agreed 90 day out of service period for the rig.
“Our aim is to provide our clients with the option of repairing their rigs where they drill, so in this case ‘Drill in Trinidad, repair in Trinidad’” – this benefits the local economy and is politically very compelling,” said Andy Boardman, HSGO’s chief executive.
“Our efforts are very much focused upon working with our clients saving them money, mitigating risk and exceeding their project delivery expectations.”
