North-east firm R&M Engineering (Huntly) has appointed Dave Penman as a director to head its new offshore and onshore laser survey and scanning division.
Mr Penman, a dimensional laser survey expert, has previously worked for a variety of owner operator and engineering, procurement and construction companies.
R&M, which employs about 70 people, is a provider of integrated engineering and fabrication services to the oil and gas sector.
Its new division has been set up after a £5million injection of equity from energy investor Maven Capital Partners.
Maven took a majority stake in the business, with the remainder left in the hands of the R&M’s management team.
It was the sixth deal completed by Maven’s Aberdeen-based team during 2013.
