Aberdeen-based bmi regional is set to continue its growth in 2014.
The airline is this week launching new routes from Stavanger in Norway, supported directly from the Aberdeen base.
This expansion will connect Stavanger, the country’s oil and gas industry hub, with Harstad, Tromso, and Kristiansund – all important locations for the energy sector – and Gothenburg in Sweden.
Cathal O’Connell, chief executive of bmi regional, said: “The oil and gas industry has been the primary driver for the airline’s growth in Aberdeen, where our scheduled network connects to the key energy destinations of Esbjerg in Denmark, Oslo and Kristiansund in Norway and Norwich in the UK, as well as Bristol and Manchester.”
Meanwhile, Eastern Airways is increasing flights from Aberdeen to Southampton from today.
