Aberdeen-based information systems specialist Collabro has landed its first major contract win in the Middle East.
The contract with Maersk Oil in Qatar, to provide Vantage POB software and associated support services to all assets in the expansive Al Shaheen oilfield, is worth around £460,000 to the firm.
Collabro offers Vantage POB – a personnel logistics system initially developed to aid the North Sea oil and gas industry monitor and control the movement of workers to and from offshore facilities – under an exclusive worldwide distributor agreement.
“This is a significant milestone for our team, as it marks our first major contract in the Middle East, and this development is already attracting great interest from other clients within the Persian Gulf,” said Collabro product manager Kevin Walker.
“The fact that Vantage POB has been tried and tested in the UK Continental Shelf for the past 10 years gives the product a lot of global credibility.
“We are looking forward to accelerating our international expansion into a number of foreign markets over the next year, as this trend continues.”
The specialist offshore safety passports system is used by 65 oil and gas operators across the world.
