Equipment manufacturer Flowline Specialists is to invest £2.5million in new assets as it looks to ramp up growth for 2014.
The Oldmeldrum-based firm, which designs and engineers tensioners and other equipment for the oil, gas and renewables industry, has bought a new reel drive system and is building a four-track tensioner for its pool of hire equipment.
The 13-year-old company, which employs around 40 staff, already boasts a self-loading reel carrier system which can move reels without need for a crane.
“This is a major investment for Flowline Specialists and ensures that we can now offer on a much larger scope of projects than previously”, said managing director Jim Smith.
“We normally manufacture our equipment in-house, but because business levels are currently very strong we had no option but to purchase the reel drive system.”
