Offshore accommodation provider Prosafe said it is set to strike a deal to lease a support vessel in Norway in a deal worth up to £287million.
The Cyprus-based firm, which has operations in Aberdeen and Oslo, said it has been awarded a “Letter of Intent” by an “undisclosed oil major” to lease a rig in the Norwegian North Sea.
The deal, which runs for a period of three years with four additional one-year options, will see it convert its semi-submersible accommodation vessel, the Safe Scandinavia, into tender support vessel in the first quarter of 2015.
The firm acquired Safe Scandinavia, which boasts a cinema and a sauna, in 1999.
