Subsea 7 is to provide support for the next phase of the BC-10 project off Brazil after landing a £67million deal with Shell.
The contract, which will start its offshore campaign mid 2015, will see the firm using the Skandi Neptune to install jumpers, umbilicals and subsea structures for the project.
The deepwater Parque das Conchas field is set to produce more than 110,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day once the fhird phase is complete. Earlier this year SHell sold a 23% stake in the project to Qatar Petroleum International for around $1billion.
The Subsea 7 deal will see them operating on the field for two years, with work being managed from the company’s offices in Rio de Janeiro.
“We are pleased to have been awarded this important contract and be able to work once again with Shell Brazil, following our contracts for the Bijupirá-Salema and BC-10 Phase 1 developments,” said Brazil senior vice president Victor Bomfim.
“Subsea 7 looks forward to working closely with Shell to successfully deliver the work scope in a safe and timely manner.”
