Aberdeen subsea firm Bibby Offshore is expanding its operations with the launch of a new purpose-built workshop.
The new base, named the Hangar, will give the subsea contractor access to more than 50,000 square foot of storage and maintenance space.
The firm, which relocated to new headquarters in Westhill last year from its previous base in Aberdeen harbour, has taken on a 15-year lease for the site.
“The Hangar is a significant investment by Bibby Offshore to ensure we are continuing to offer the best in class facilities for our staff and clients,” said supply chain manager John Black.
“Taking the facility on a long term lease further proves our commitment to this area and the growth of the business. The workshop and warehouse facility is the next major milestone for the business and complements our purpose built headquarters.”
The facility, which includes a 16-tonne gantry crane and workshops, will enable Bibby to retain in-house maintenance and construction that was previously outsourced.
