Marine contractors Jumbo are gearing up for the second stage of work for EnQuest’s Alma and Galia fields after completing the first tranche.
The Dutch contractors have installed the mooring spread for the FPSO, which is currently being finished at the OGN yard in Newcastle.
Anchor piles have been installed on the seabed ahead of the installation of the FPSO, which is due to take place later this year, with a sub frame positioned to ensure chains and anchors were correctly positioned.
The delayed field is expected to produce an initial 13,000 barrels of oil equivalent when it comes onstream later this year, rising to between 22,000 and 27,000boed at peak.
Jumbo, which picked up the contract in September 2012, said it had carried out the project in just 12 months.
