Aberdeen oil and gas consultancy Magma Products has appointed a new projects director for its Great Yarmouth operation.
Ivor Ecclestone will bring 30 years of experience in the industry, including posts with Haliburton, PSL Energy Services and BJ Services, and is moving in from his most recent role as projects manager with EnerMech.
He has joined Magma to develop its integrated approach to managing large-scale projects, following the company’s £500,000 investment in the new Great Yarmouth base earlier this year.
Initially six jobs will be created at Great Yarmouth, with the aim to add between 20 and 30 people by the end of the year.
“We’re delighted to have Ivor on board. He brings a wealth of project management experience to the business, in particular in the pre-commissioning arena,” said Paul Rushton, managing director at Magma Products.
“We’ve had positive feedback from the market to our integrated engineering processes but we can only move forward if we have the right people, like Ivor, in place.”
The new Great Yarmouth operation, encompassing a 6,600 square foot facility, will deliver complex brownfield, greenfield and ongoing maintenance projects, through the deployment of a specialist and proven engineering support model.
