Energy service firm Apollo has scooped two Aker Solutions’ staff for its newly created IT division.
Business unit manager Douglas Sinclair and software programmer Mark Tanyous have joined the Aberdeen-based project management company to support its new technical software business.
The new team leader Sinclair has made the transition from Aker after nearly 20 years with the company’s offshore division.
“Apollo is a company with bold ambition,” he said.
“Their vibrancy and clear vision for the future attracted me to join them to develop their technical software offering. I look forward to being a part of their exciting future.”
The new division was created to address the growing demand for data filtering software and multimedia platform management among Apollo clients, according to the firm’s managing director Jon D’Arcy.
“We find that our customers have an increasing number of software tools to help them in their day to day business. These are on multiple platforms that can make data assimilation and informed decision making difficult,” he said.
“Our new team will identify technical issues and will create new tools to aid customers in their engineering and management tasks, whether that be in asset integrity, verification or commissioning activities for example.”
