Dutch engineering group Fugro has won a contract to search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight, the MH370.
The award by Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), which operates a $55.9million budget to carry out the search, sets out the deployment of two Fugro specialist vessels equipped with deep tow survey systems to conduct the deep-water search.
Fugro Discovery is set to begin the deep tow search in late September with Fugro Equator joining shortly thereafter.
The company, which provides geotechnical, survey and geoscience services to the energy industry, has been conducting underwater mapping of the search area since June.
The search is expected to take up to 12 months, or until the aircraft is found, Fugro said in a statement.
