Engineering and construction company Technip has been awarded a ‘significant’ contract worth up to £80million for work in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Awarded by The Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), Technip has won the Front-End Engineering Design (Feed) contract to enhance throughput at a refinery from 267,000 to 360,000 barrel per day.
Marco Villa, Technip region president, said: “We are proud to be associated to BAPCO for this major development of the refinery.”
This wins adds to a string of contracts secured by the company after it was given a contract by Dubai Petroleum Establishment in February for work in Jasiah, as well as picking up one of the first contracts for Total’s Eradour Subsea Development.
Work on the refinery units will be executed from Rome with support from its operating centre in Abu Dhabi and is expected to be completed at the end of next year.
