Oil and gas recruiter Frontier International has appointed a new finance chief to help push the Aberdeen-based firm on to further global growth.
Frontier, founded in 1999 by oil industry engineers Mark Clarke and Paul Radcliffe, said yesterday Bill Buchanan had joined it in the newly created role of group financial controller.
Mr Buchanan has had a string of management roles in the oil and gas industry, most recently as global operations controller for north-east energy service company Senergy.
Frontier said its latest appointment was prompted by continued growth locally and internationally.
Mr Radcliffe, managing director, added: “it is vital that we have that level of financial expertise on hand to ensure this expansion is as smooth and cost-effective as possible.
“His (Mr Buchanan’s) impressive skill set and relevant experience also means that, together with chairman Mark Clarke, I can now devote increased time to business development and client services improvement safe in the knowledge that we have an in-house financial expert.”
Mr Buchanan said: “Having significant experience in international financial expansion, I understand the associated issues and look forward to utilising that knowledge to the benefit of the company and its clients.”
Overseas demand in recent years has led Frontier to expand in several key regions, and it now has wholly-owned subsidiaries covering India/the Middle East, east Africa and the Caribbean.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen-based well technology specialist Delphian Ballistics has appointed a full-time operations director as it prepares to take new technology to market.
Serena Arif is a trained chemist with 15 years’ experience in the energy sector. She held a number of technical positions in the plastics and paper industries before co-founding her own technology company, PolyOil, which was sold to Norwegian firm Roxar in 2008.
Before joining Aberdeen-based Delphian she was subsea business director for materials and technology specialist Aubin, and played a pivotal role in bringing new subsea products to market.
