A helicopter has declared an emergency off the north coast of Scotland.
The Bristow EC225 airbus helicopter was flying from Aberdeen Airport for work in the oil and gas industry.
It is believed that a warning light came on forcing the aircraft to turn back to Aberdeen.
A coastguard spokeswoman confirmed they had been called as a precaution but later told not to attend.
She said: “One of the warning lights came on.
“I believe they have now landed.”
A Bristow spokeswoman confirmed the helicopter had returned to Aberdeen airport at around 9.30 am.
She said: “It was a routine return to base.
“The aircraft will be checked over by engineers before flying again.”
From today private company Bristow has begun providing search and rescue (SAR) operations in the north-east of England and northern Scotland.
The RAF and Royal Navy service will be phased out completely across the UK over the next two years.
