Jacobs Engineering Group has strengthened its senior team after picking a new chief executive.
The company has named Steven Demetriou as head of the company, and he will also be elected to the board.
He brings more than 30 years’ experience in global business leadership and most recently served as chief executive of Aleris Corporation.
Executive Chairman Noel Watson said: “Steve has a proven track record for driving growth and creating shareholder value, as well as a clear appreciation of our values and culture.
“Mr Demetriou is known for his passionate, hands-on leadership style, his strong customer relationships and his focus on operational excellence.
“We are delighted to welcome a leader of Steve’s caliber to build on the strong, global foundation we have put in place and lead our company forward.”
Demetriou will work with the senior management and the company’s board to develop strategies to help strengthen Jacob’s position as a global leader.
He has also served on the board of Kraton Performance Plymers and the board of Foster Wheeler.
