Offshore services provider Viking SeaTech has announced the expansion of its UK marine department as business in the region increases.
Two experienced oil and gas industry professionals have joined to strengthen the Aberdeen-headquartered company’s core marine engineering competencies.
Marine manager Syed Shah has more than 25 years’ experience and over 75 rig moves. He is a master mariner and has worked across Europe, Asia and Australia.
Colin Allan joins as a project engineer and arrives with a broad engineering and design portfolio, including projects with major civil and marine engineering firms.
John Dick, Viking SeaTech regional business leader, said: “We have increased confidence in the market and our customers have shown belief in our business focus.”
The company recently secured contracts with Total E&P UK Ltd and Maersk Oil in competitive North Sea Region tenders.
Chris Forde became the new global business leader-president last month following the retirement Jan de Konig.
The firm has plans to further increase staff numbers in its marine department before the end of the year.
