This timelapse shows a major milestone just completed on Shell’s Malikai deepwater project in Malaysia.
The topside weighs an estimated 13,800 tonnes which is equivalent to weight of 14,000 average family cars.
Earlier this month the oil major announced the tension leg platform had been placed together with the hull at Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering’s (MMHE) yard in Malaysia.
The platform was raised 40 metres high with specially built jacks making it the world’s highest jack-up and skidding operation at this scale.
