The 2015 Press and Journal Energy Ball lived up to its reputation once again as the premier night of the region’s social calendar.
Hundreds of guests streamed in to the stand-out evening, donning their finest glitz and glam before being wined, dined and entertained.
Flying in from Paris to the delight of guests was the 19-piece Swan Band who had everyone up on their feet before dinner had even finished being served.
The annual celebration of the region’s oil and gas sector saw the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre transformed for one night only into a glittering affair.
Among the guests was industry expert Professor Alex Kemp, who was presented with a special framed picture to commemorate his induction into the Press and Journal’s Hall of Fame at the Gold Awards earlier this year.
The portrait took pride of place in the networking area, a new feature at this year’s Energy Ball which gave guests a chance to have a quiet breather in between energetic turns on the dance floor.
Editor-in-chief of Aberdeen Journals Damian bates said while the industry faced challenging times, it must remained focus on showing young people how incredible the North Sea oil and gas industry is and there is still plenty of life in the UKCS.
