Delighted watch collector Jamie Gray was right on time yesterday when he visited leading Aberdeen jeweller Finnies the Jewellers to collect his fabulous prize in our competition to win a Breitling Superocean 42.
Jamie, a technical manager at Trimble Lifting Solutions, said: “I found out that I had won the watch when I was in Australia on holiday and I was genuinely convinced it was one of my friends on the wind-up.
“It wasn’t until I watched the video on the Energy Voice website that I realised that I had actually won. Being in Australia at the time, I was using my mobile data to load the video and it was buffering quite a bit, which just seemed to add to the suspense even more.”
The self-confessed watch enthusiast currently owns two Rolexes and an Omega.
He said: “The Breitling Superocean 42 will be a fantastic addition to my collection. My dad has always been a watch person so he’s passed the bug onto me and I’m definitely going to enjoy wearing the watch with pride – much to the disgust of my mates!
“I’d like to say a massive thank you to both Finnies the Jewellers and Energy Voice for running the competition and selecting me as the winner. It was a massive surprise and most definitely made our trip to Australia even more memorable.”
Jamie received his watch from Finnies director Matthew Finnie, at its George Street store.
Energy Voice in association with Finnies the Jewellers gave readers the chance to win a Breitling Superocean 42 by registering for free during Offshore Europe from September 8-11.
Finnies is a family owned company which has been serving the north-east of Scotland and beyond for almost 60 years and stocks more than 26 of the world’s finest watch brands.
