An offshore worker has captured incredible images of wildlife in the North Sea.
The Scottish SPCA revealed yesterday it had helped rescue an owl that had lost its way offshore.
But – as these images by amateur bird watcher and photographer Kevin Duffy show – the North Sea is a haven for beautiful birds.
In October alone Duffy has spotted owls, starlings, redwing blackcaps and even a merlin off the coast of northern Scotland.
His pictures also show the number of owls spotted offshore recently as they begin to migrate for the winter.
In June, a racing pigeon that lost its way was also rescued offshore.
