An international arrest warrant has been issued by Russia for a former oil tycoon accused of ordering the killing of a politician.
Mikhail Khodorkovsky, a former Kremlin critic, has been accused by police of organising the death of a mayor in a Siberian oil town.
He has denied the charges against him.
It comes after he was arrested in 2003 after falling out with Vladimir Putin and later being convicted of tax evasion and fraud in a trial which he said was politically motivated.
A statement by police said they had concluded that Khodorkovsky had ordered subordinates to kill Vladimir Petukhov, the mayor of Nefteyugansk, in 1998.
Russia announced the warrant a day after armed police raided the Moscow offices of a pro-democracy movement founded by Khodorkovsky.
