A former boss at oil major BP has been commended for his services to the energy industry in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.
John Baxter, formerly group head of engineering, will receive an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for his services to engineering. education and the energy sector.
Former Energy Secretary Lib Dem MP Ed Davey, who held the post during the coalition government, will be knighted for his services.
The list sees several leading business figures awarded for their efforts in boosting the UK economy, including damehoods for EasyJet chief executive Carolyn McCall.
Other energy industry figures include Murdo Allan, director of health safety, sustainability and technical training, from UK Power Networks.
He has been awarded an OBE for services to skills in the Energy Industry.
Meanwhile Philip Rowland Wolfe, the founder and chairman of Westmill Solar Co-operative and Community Energy has been honoured for his services to Renewable Energy and the Energy Sector, with an OBE.
Caroline Green, a senior executive officer with the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has been honoured for her services to the development of energy policy and voluntary service to the community.
