Carnavon Petroleum has confirmed the safe completion of a drilling campaign in Thailand. The L44/43 and L33/43 concessions had field production rates of 6,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).

Swala Energy has completed a 2D seismic programme over the Kilombero Basin. Swala confirmed its 58.5% owned subsidiary company, Swala Oil and Gas (Tanzania) Plc, has successfully completed its 430km 2D seismic programme over the Kilombero Basin in central Tanzania.

Greka Drilling has been awarded a $45m contract for further work on a project in China. The venture will see 30 new LiFaBriC wells in the Shizauang South block in the Shanxi Province of China.
Clean Energy Fuels has confirmed the sale of its majority interests in McCommas Bluff to Cambrian Energy for $40.6million. The sale also includes $3million in compensation, pending tests on the facility which are due to be finished early this year.
Total has confirmed the start-up of oil production from one of its North Sea projects. The Eldesk II project on the PL 018 license of the Norwegian North Sea is producing oil in line with its schedule that was approved in 2011. The company said the venture increase oil recovery of the Eldsk field and has a production capacity of 70,000 barrels of oil inequivalent per day.
AWE Limited has received government approval for a project at offshore East Java. The firm was given approval by the Government of Indonesia for the development of the Lengo gas project.
A project headed by Tamarack Valley Energy experienced a "record" exit production rate toward the end of last year. Canada-based Tamarack said its drilling program in the Wilson Creek contributed to a rise in production rates during the last two weeks of December. Rates averaged at 9,700 boe/d with all 10.9 net wells drilled in the fourth quarter were brought on production last month.
Eland Oil & Gas has appointed a new non-executive director. Henry Arthur John Turcan will join the firm with almost 20 years experience working in the financial industry. In 2006 Mr Turcan established Novum Securities, an independent stockbroking business focused on UK listed securities.

Gulfsands Petroleum is one step closer to finding its first gas in Morocco as work progresses on operations. Production has started on the Dardara Southeast 1 (DRC-1) Rharb Centre Permit in Northern Morocco using the COFOR SAS Cabot 750 rig. The DRC-1 well is the second well to be drilled based on the interpretation of 3D seismic survey data shot by Gulfsands on the Rharb Centre Permit in 2013.
Oil and gas exploration company Circle Oil has confirmed a discovery in Morocco. The Middle East and North Africa focused firm has found oil in the KSR-12 well in the Sebou Permit. The well is located about 1.2 kilometres to the south-west of the KSR gas gathering station. It was drilled to a total depth of 1,980 metres measured depth.
Cheniere and GE have entered a $1billion contract for the Sabine Pass LNG export terminal. The 20-year deal will see GE provide spare parts and planned inspections, maintenance services and technical support for the gas turbines and refrigerant compressors on the first four LNG trains currently under construction.
Tower Resources has reached an agreement with Repsol Exploration, following a dispute over costs of a project in offshore Namibia. In September Respol, the project operator, estimated the Welwitschia venture cost at $33million net to Tower. Its subsidiary, Neptune Petroleum, had settled US$25.3 million of these costs.
Australian Energy company Senex Energy has secured a floor cost for its oil revenues bid to protect them the against recent drop in prices. The move was carried out through a combination of put options and zero cost collars.
BP has selected Jacobs Engineering to hold its role as strategic supplier of mid-cap work on a global basis. The contract value has not been disclosed, but it replaces a similar contract that has been in place since 2002.

The North Cape Maritime Training Centre in Honningsvåg in Norway now contains the world’s only oil spill simulator where onshore and offshore personnel isolated or together, can train in the tools and stages of oil spill combating operations. It has been created by Aptomar together with Transas in close cooperation with the North Cape Maritime Training Centre in Honningsvag.

Shell will sell its downstream businesses in Norway. The oil giant will sell its retail, commercial fuels and supply and distribution logistics businesses in Norway. Its aviation business in Norway will become a 50-50 joint venture with ST1.
Drilling service provider Mermaid has landed a $50million contract in the Gulf of Thailand. The two-year deal will see the firm's dive support vessel provide subsea constrcution support for a major oil and gas operator in the area.

Australian firm Senex Energy has completed the Surat Basin asset swap. The firm has exchanged its minority interests in the QGC operated eastern Surat Basin gas permits ATP 574 and PL 171 for a 100% interest in and operatorship of three QGC JV western Surat Basin permits.
