Subsea 7 has confirmed 10 crew members on a North Sea supply vessel have tested positive for Covid-19.
The positive cases were on board the Normand Subsea, stationed at Nigg in the Cromarty Firth.
Subsea 7 said all affected workers with Covid, and non-essential crew-members, have been transferred off the vessel into onshore quarantine accommodation and are being monitored by medical staff.
None of the crew are presenting serious health conditions, while the company remains in dialogue with NHS Highland’s health protection team.
As a further precaution, the Normand Subsea is being deep cleaned.
NHS Highland said there is no risk to the wider community.
A company spokesperson said: “Subsea 7 remains vigilant with our prime concern being the health and welfare of all personnel.
“We are monitoring the situation very closely and taking precautionary measures to reduce the risk of exposure, in line with guidance from national and local health authorities.”
