What’s in these terms?
This acceptable use policy sets out the content standards that apply when Users place or create user content on www.efwd.energyvoice.com (the “Digital Hub”), make contact with other users on the Digital Hub, link to the Digital Hub, or interact with the Digital Hub in any other way (each a “Contribution”). Users are granted access to the Digital Hub by their affiliate Member, who pay for their membership and take responsibility for their actions under the Membership Terms and Conditions. The Digital Hub is owned and operated by DC Thomson & Company Limited (“DC Thomson”, hereafter referred to as “we” or “us”). This Acceptable Use Policy should be read alongside our Digital Hub Terms and Conditions, Membership Terms and Conditions, and our Privacy Policy.
Prohibited uses
Users may not use the Digital Hub:
- If they are under 18.
- In any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation.
- In any way that is illegal, unlawful or fraudulent or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect.
- To knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.
- To transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (spam).
Users also agree not to
- Not to reproduce, duplicate, copy or re-sell any part of the Digital Hub in contravention of the provisions of the Membership Terms and Conditions, or Digital Hub Terms and Conditions.
- Not to access without authority, interfere with, damage or disrupt:

- any part of the Digital Hub;
- any equipment or network on which the Digital Hub is stored;
- any software used in the provision of the Digital Hub; or
- any equipment or network or software owned or used by any third party.

Content Standards
Our Digital Hub community is intended to be a safe, constructive, friendly, and supportive place where opinions and ideas can be expressed, engaged with, and debated. When uploading any material to the Digital Hub, please bear in mind the following.
- Keep it polite and respectful. We will remove any Contributions that are rude, unlawful, or offensive, including Contributions which:
- include swearing, personal attacks, or threats;
- bully, insult, intimidate or humiliate any person;
- contain any defamatory or discriminatory content directed at any individual or group, or are otherwise obscene, hateful, or inflammatory.
- Keep it accurate. We will remove any Contributions which we believe are misleading, deceptive, or spread misinformation. If Users choose to share their opinions, these must be ones genuinely held.
- Be yourself. Users should not post Contributions which impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person, or give the impression that the Contribution emanates from another party (including DC Thomson & Company Limited), if this is not the case.
- Third party sites. Users should not post Contributions which contain any advertising or promote any services or web links to other sites.
DC Thomson & Company Limited will determine, in its discretion, whether a Contribution breaches the Content Standards.
Breach of this policy
When we consider that a breach of this acceptable use policy has occurred, we may take such action as we deem appropriate.
Failure to comply with this acceptable use policy constitutes a material breach of the Digital Hub Terms and Conditions upon which Users are permitted to use the Digital Hub, and may result in our taking all or any of the following actions:
- Immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of a User’s right to use the Digital Hub.
- Immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any Contribution uploaded by the User to the Digital Hub.
- Issue of a warning to the User.
- Legal proceedings against the User (or their affiliated Member) for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach.
Further legal action against the User (or their affiliated Member). - Disclosure of such information to law enforcement authorities as we reasonably feel is necessary or as required by law.
We exclude our liability for all action we may take in response to breaches of this acceptable use policy. The actions we may take are not limited to those described above, and we may take any other action we reasonably deem appropriate.
