The number of Scottish oil and gas companies attending Offshore North Seas (ONS) has gone up by a quarter.
Thirty-two companies from across the supply chain went to Stavanger for the previous event in 2014.
Forty are at this year’s conference, including Blaze Manufacturing Solutions, ITC Hydraulic Services, READ Cased Hole, and Deep Water Oil Tools.
The increase suggests more firms are trying to expand their international footprint to offset the oil industry downturn.
David Rennie, delegation leader and head of international for oil and gas at Scottish Enterprise, said: “It is very encouraging to see such a significant group of companies looking at international oil and gas markets in these difficult times for the industry.
“In Norway we have a long term partner in the development and exploration on the North Sea basin.
“This relationship has flourished in recent years and we are witnessing Norwegian companies establishing in Aberdeen/Scotland and Scottish companies establishing in Norway.
“For the future, we see a deepening relationship with Norway and our presence at ONS strengths this relationship.”
International sales to Norway reached £750million 2014, making it the seventh most popular market for Scotland’s supply chain, according to Scottish Enterprise.
