Multimillionaire Aberdeen businessman Jim Milne has added to an already impressive haul of honours by winning Entrepreneurial Scotland’s entrepreneur of the year title.
Mr Milne, founder and chairman of engineering company Balmoral Group, has won accolades galore over the years.
In winning his latest gong, presented at Entrepreneurial Scotland’s 20th annual dinner in Glasgow, he follows in the footsteps of another north-east business leader – Saltire Energy’s Mike Loggie – who received the same award last year.
The emerging entrepreneur of the year award went to Chris Gauld, chief executive of Selkirk-based Spark Energy.
Entrepreneurial Scotland chief executive Sandy Kennedy said: “I am thrilled to congratulate both Jim and Chris.
“This year we received a tremendous response to the awards resulting in the highest-ever number of nominations.
“Each of the finalists was chosen after a rigorous judging process and they have emerged as Scotland’s most successful entrepreneurial leaders.”
