Stork is showcasing its unique caisson management portfolio at this year’s Offshore Europe, stand 2C100, taking place in Aberdeen, UK.
Caissons are essential to an asset’s operations and can become problematic due to stress, fatigue, increased corrosion, failure through cracking and through-wall defects. This may result in costly shutdowns or high risk, dropped-object situations.
Stork has a strong track record in providing integrated caisson management solutions. The company’s late life management and asset integrity service ensures caissons are fit for safe and continued operation, whilst providing asset owners with confidence in their caisson integrity status. As part of this, Stork provides an effective assessment, inspection, and repair (AIR) programme ensuring reliability, technical integrity, safety and regulatory compliance is delivered.
Adding to this portfolio, Stork unveiled its newly launched swage repair technology at this year’s oil and gas exhibition. With the introduction of the swage tool, Stork has enhanced their existing provision; from initial integrity assessment of the caissons’ history, defining and delivering what, when and where requires inspection and cleaning. To where required, a full repair service which restores the integrity and extends the life of a caisson.
Within the swage repair stage, activities include an initial survey, supply of internal liner material as well as connectors and associated components. All of this is delivered through an integrated team inclusive of riggers, welders and inspection personnel; working under an experienced project management team.
Erik-Jan Bijvank, Regional VP of UK, Middle East and Africa for Stork, said: “We are fully committed to providing the industry with holistic late-life management solutions through our integrated caisson management offering. We have established this by investing our resources in developing our technology, ensuring we are well positioned to offer advanced solutions throughout the various asset life cycle stages.”
Bijvank continued: “With the inclusion of the swage repair tool, I believe this suite of services will provide cost and productivity efficiencies to our clients, through one interface. All of this combined, we help our clients maintain their caissons’ integrity for years to come”.
