Delegates are being invited to a subsea business breakfast during the upcoming Subsea Expo conference to discuss the sector’s future.
Organised by Scottish Enterprise, the Aberdeen event will seek to update attendees on upcoming subsea opportunities while giving a platform to companies to speak about diversification and business growth.
David Halliday of Roemex Ltd will deliver a presentation on his experience of doing business in Norway, while Ann Johnson from Blaze Manufacturing Solutions Ltd will look at current and future diversification opportunities for subsea companies.
David Rennie, head of oil and gas at Scottish Enterprise, said: “Subsea is one of the most important sectors for Scotland and the expertise developed in oil and gas industry is now being increasingly utilised across other sectors. The event will set out how we are supporting the industry to drive further growth as well as hear from companies which have benefitted from internationalisation and diversification.”
Subsea Expo brings more than 5,000 delegates and around 150 exhibitors to Aberdeen each year as one of the world’s largest subsea exhibition and conference events.
Chief executive of Subsea UK, Neil Gordon, added: “Last year the oil and gas industry turned a corner and we saw an increase in the number exports, clearly demonstrating that confidence has returned. We’re encouraging representatives from organisations across the region to register their attendance and take advantage of the insights and support on offer from Scottish Enterprise.”
