About 1,000 energy leaders from across the world will meet in Aberdeen next month to discuss the growing heavy-oil industry.
Representatives of energy majors, service companies and governments will attend the World Heavy Oil Congress at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre when it starts on Monday, September 10. The four-day event will include more than 140 presentations, networking events and tours, all focused on improving exploration, recovery and production in heavy-oil basins around the world.
Wes Scott, at event producer DMG Events, said heavy oil was becoming an increasingly significant part of the global energy mix, adding: “Abundant unconventional reserves endow heavy-oil production with great exploration potential and broad development prospects.”
