Business leaders on both sides of the Atlantic will strengthen links between Aberdeen and Houston at a hi-tech event next month.
Representatives from the energy industry and the public sector will meet in both cities at the same time and will be linked by video conference for a networking session.
The event, which will be hosted by Granite PR, will include talks from Rod Christie, chief executive of subsea systems at GE Oil and Gas, and Ian Kirk, managing director of Downhole Products.
The British consul general in Houston, Andrew Millar, and Aberdeen City Council’s director of enterprise, planning and infrastructure, Gordon McIntosh, will also take part in the event.
Representatives in Aberdeen will meet for lunch in the Marcliffe Hotel, at Pitfodels, on Tuesday, March 19.
The event will be just over a month before the start of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) show in Houston, while the biennial Offshore Europe conference will be held in Aberdeen in September.
Brett Jackson, managing director of Granite PR, said: “We hope that this event, prior to this year’s OTC and Offshore Europe, will not only celebrate the existing strong business links between the two cities but that it will also provide a springboard which will facilitate additional business opportunities in both locations.”
