Some of the North Sea oil and gas industry’s biggest players, including Neptune Energy, BP and TotalEnergies, are in the running to pick up a gong at the OGUK Awards.
Organised by trade body Oil and Gas UK (OGUK), the shortlist for the prestigious event, sponsored by Shell, has been revealed.
A total of 27 entrants have made the cut after an expert panel whittled down a list of over 90 nominees for the eight different award categories.
Those selected have made an “extraordinary impact” on the oil and gas industry in the past year.
The event is due to take place both virtually, via livestream, and physically on Wednesday, December 8, at the P&J Live in Aberdeen.
Commenting on the announcement, OGUK chief executive Deirdre Michie OBE said: “From an impressive list of submissions, these finalists are a real reflection of the great talent and expertise of our energy communities – those that personify the North Sea grit and innovation this industry has become known for.
“I am delighted to see this recognition for their accomplishments in keeping the UK’s lights on, our hospitals running, and transport systems going – all while really driving industry toward its net zero goals and transitioning the UK towards a sustainable future.”
