An unforgettable night will be signed, sealed and delivered at the Press and Journal Energy Ball this year after Soul Legends were confirmed as the headline act.
The smash-hit show – featuring the music of Stevie Wonder, Barry White, James Brown and many more – will provide the soundtrack for the oil and gas industry’s big night.
Top UK comic Jason Manford – a star of television’s 8 out of 10 Cats – is also on the bill for what is shaping up to be a night to remember. The Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre will be transformed for the party on Saturday, October 4.
Damian Bates, editor-in-chief at Aberdeen Journals and editor of the Press and Journal, described the black-tie event as one of the highlights of the social calendar.
“There is no other event like the Press and Journal Energy Ball, it is the biggest and best of its kind in Scotland,” he said.
“The oil and gas sector is massive in the north and north-east of Scotland, and it is only right that we celebrate it.
“We have a lot of new stuff planned this year, which we will keep under wraps for now, but there is already a great buzz about the ball.
“Once again it will be a fabulous event, and we want as many people as possible to come join us.”

Around 1,400 people will attend the annual event, which this year is being held in association with Agusta Westland and Bristow Helicopters.
This is the seventh year of the black-tie dance and it will be the largest turnout in its history, with guests from home and abroad enjoying another evening of top-class food and entertainment.
Mike Imlach, UK managing director at Bristow Helicopters, said: “This year we will be joint title sponsors of the Energy Ball with Agusta Westland and look forward to showcasing one of our new Agusta Westland helicopters at the event.
“We have been involved in the Energy Ball for several years and are delighted to be involved in such a high profile industry event once more.”
Organiser George Walker, of George Walker Event Management, said this year’s ball would be “the most memorable to date”. He added: “Each year we manage to raise the bar – and we’ve set it higher than ever this year.”
