The boss of Aberdeen-based shipping and energy service company Craig Group has been recruited to the GlobalScot network, which helps to promote Scottish businesses around the world.
Craig Group chairman and managing director Douglas Craig and two other senior oil and gas industry bosses – both working in Houston – are being formally welcomed to the network by Energy Minister Fergus Ewing at OTC.
The new Texas-based GlobalScots are Chris Cooper, director of global projects at Marathon Oil, and Dresser-Rand business development director George Laird.
Mr Craig said: “I am very honoured to be part of such a prestigious network, which actively promotes Scottish business.
“Our oilfield procurement business now supplies 55 countries from 10 international bases.
“As we seek to extend our international footprint, I will actively champion the GlobalScot programme around the world.”
Mr Ewing said: “The commitment of Douglas, Chris and George and the other GlobalScots directly shows their dedication in assisting in Scotland’s future.”
The latest recruits join a global network of over 640 high-profile Scots, including more than 100 in the energy industry.
They and other GlobalScots attending OTC are meeting 63 companies as part of a trade delegation led by Scottish Development International, an arm of Scotland’s enterprise agencies.
