Operator Apache has exercised the first of two options to extend its existing contract with Archer for the provision of platform drilling services for another year.
Managing director for Archer UK, Kenny Dey, said: “It is excellent news for Archer and illustrates the hard work and commitment which our personnel put into delivering a safe environment for all those engaged on the Apache assets whilst ensuring support in delivering Apache’s high level of operational efficiency.”
Archer currently operates a total of 33 platforms in the North Sea, Greece and Brazil, including Forties Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta platforms along with the Beryl Alpha and Bravo installations.
The company reduced its global headcount by 1,000 earlier this year as the oil downturn kicked in, with around 425 going in the UK.
