Wellhead equipment built in Montrose will be used worldwide by Statoil after it awarded GE Oil & Gas a four-year framework agreement with the option of two, two-year extensions.
GE Oil & Gas will provide wellhead systems and services to the Norwegian oil group that will allow all year operations in regions with in harsh environments.
GE said the deal marked a “significant step” in increasing standardisation of subsea equipment.

With offshore operations moving into more extreme environments, the need for more cost-efficient and optimised solutions is paramount. Our equipment can lead the industry in extending the life of offshore assets.”
Equipment from GE Oil & Gas will be built in the company’s facilities in Montrose and Houston as well as in Indonesia and Brazil.
