Alexander Holmes: Jonathan Cole, MD of Scottish Power’s offshore wind business, says at the All Energy Breakfast he is looking forward to more credible figures on the value of offshore wind projects and the announcement of UK price tariffs. Both will come this summer, and should boost investment in the offshore wind industry.
Fergus Ewing, Scotland’s energy minister, has announced a dedicated fund to help with development of Scotland’s wave energy sector. The £18m Marine Renewables Commercialisation Fund, originally launched last year, will now be open to applications from next month, with funding due to be awarded in the summer. More details here
