Norway’s offshore safety body has uncovered a series of safety failings on the Leiv Eiriksson rig.
The vessel, owned by Cyprus-headquartered vessel contractor Ocean Rig, has been drilling wells in the Barents Sea for Lundin Petroleum.
Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority said it had detected problems with, among other things, the rig’s firefighting systems, electrical installations and emergency power system.
Ocean Rig has until February to say how it will address the non-conformities.
The company has been contacted for comment.
