Global shipping, logistics and marine services provider GAC has appointed Sarah Garden as QHSSE coordinator at its Aberdeen base.
Garden will oversee developing health, safety, security and environmental policies for the company’s 21 bases across the UK, as well as conducting nationwide health hand safety audits for its operations, including the Aberdeen 88,000 square feet facility which employs 37 ship agency, freight forwarding and support staff and incorporates warehousing and storage.
“Sarah joins GAC at an exciting time for the business with a vast amount of expansion within the UK oil and gas sector,” said Steve Gibson, GAS Aberdeen general manager for oil and gas.
“Health, safety, security and environmental issues are a top priority for that industry, which plays such a key role in the local economy around Aberdeen, so it’s also a top priority for us.
“Globally, GAC is present at all major energy hubs, and locally business is growing so fast that we intend to double the size of the Aberdeen branch in coming years.”
