All this week Energy Voice is taking a look back at the events of November 6th in which 45 men lost their lives after a Chinook helicopter crashed on its return to Sumburgh Airport from the Brent Delta platform.
Images from the days after the 1986 Chinook helicopter crash in the North Sea show the efforts of the industry to fully investigate how the accident occurred.
Helicopters were used to look for survivors while the the oil and gas industry pulled together to understand what had taken place.
Photographs have shown how wreckage was recovered for investigating and brought back to Aberdeen.
There were 47 people on board the flight, with only two survivors.
The flight had been returning from the Brent Charlie field at around 11.30am when the incident happened.
