An Aberdeen-based oil and gas duo who got together to form a new venture keeping business premises free of Covid-19 have already expanded to cover Inverness and Dundee.
Subsea engineer Ewan Robson, 45, has spent three decades working offshore in the North Sea and overseas, including in Nigeria, Angola, Cote d’Ivoire, South Africa and Norway.
His 49-year-old friend and new business partner is winding down his job in the oil and gas industry, so does not wish to be named.
The pair set up specialist fogging company ViraClear after seeing a gap in the market during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.
Fogging is where you apply a chemical disinfectant as a fog or mist to an area in order to combat bacteria and viruses, including Covid-19.
The entrepreneurial duo at ViraClear have invested in fogging machines with disinfectants that have been laboratory tested to international standards and are proven to kill Covid-19 on contact for at least seven days.
Several north-east firms have already undergone the treatment, including Meldrum House Country Hotel and Carnegie Fuels.
Mr Robson said: “We’re also about to start selling a brand-new hand sanitising liquid that lasts for 24-hours even after hand-washing, which we know will prove popular and economic during this time.”
