A helicopter pilot called for emergency crews to Aberdeen International Airport this morning after coming into difficulty.
The Sikorsky S-92 helicopter, operated by CHC, was taking offshore workers to a platform when the pilot raised the red flag.
This incident is the second of its kind in the last week after an identical model had to make an emergency landing last Friday.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 9.37am because a helicopter was in difficulty.
“It was downgraded to a local standby by the time we arrived.”
A spokesman for CHC said: “An aircraft returned to Aberdeen International Airport after a crew noted a technical fault during the early stages of an off shore flight.
“Aberdeen International Airport mobilised emergency services as standard procedure.
“Our engineers are now inspecting the aircraft.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “There was concern about a helicopter landing at Aberdeen Airport but it has landed safely at 9.40am.”
