Oil and gas travel-management firm Munro’s Travel reported a record financial year at a £70million turnover – a 34% increase on the previous year.
The Aberdeen-based company, who manages around 250 passengers per day, said services to the energy sector make up 95% of its business.
“We had a very satisfactory year. We’ve won contracts with new customers, while existing clients have also been awarding more business to us,” said Murray Burnett, managing partner at Munro’s Travel.
“The oil and gas industry continues to be very buoyant in the North Sea and internationally and demand for our services continues to grow.”
The firm currently employs around 120 people at its offices in Aberdeen’s Union Street and is looking to add 20 new staff in the upcoming months as it approaches one if its busiest periods.
Together with the Press and Journal, Munro’s is a regular joint organiser of the visit to the annual Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in the US oil capital of Houston on May 5.
More than 90,000 people from all around the world are expected to attend this year with a significant Scottish presence.
