EMGS (Electromagnetic Geoservices) has struck a data licensing agreement worth $7.1million for the provision of 3D EM data in the Barents Sea.
The data will be delivered this month which means the company will book the payment as a late sale in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Roar Bekker, chief executive of EMGS, said: “This sale is yet another confirmation of the increased recognition of the importance of EMGS’s EM data in the Barents Sea.”
EMGS’s multi-client data library in the Barents Sea now covers 42,000km2 in addition to approximately 10,000km2 in the Norwegian Sea and 1,400lm2 in the North Sea.
Earlier this month, the company was awarded a $27million contract by BG Group for data acquisition work in Uruguay.
