Xcite Energy said the Alberta Securities Commission and other regions, including British Columbia and Ontario, have confirmed the company is no longer a reporting issuer in any jurisdiction in Canada.
The move means the firm will no longer be required to file financial statements and other continuous disclosure documents with Canadian securities regulatory authorities.
A spokesman said Canadian security holders will continue to have access to all financial statements and other continuous disclosure documents required to be filed by the company in the UK “pursuant to its quotation on AIM”.
He added the decision would not affect the company’s trading on the Stock Exchange in London.
