Husky Energy reported a second quarter loss compared with a profit a year previously.
The company said the loss came as production fell due to planned maintenance and the Fort McMurray wildfire in Alberta.
In comparison with a profit of $120million, the firm reported a loss of $196million.
Total production also fell about six percent to 316,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the quarter.
